Description

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of Mercury’s educational blog, from planning through assignment, editing, publishing, and optimization.
  • Write, edit, and package content across blogs, newsletters, campaigns, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Manage freelancers and agency partners to scale content production while maintaining quality standards.
  • Partner with SEO/AEO, Product Marketing, Communications, Design, and other teams to identify opportunities and expand content reach and impact.
  • Use performance data and audience insights to improve content performance and guide editorial investments.
  • Leverage AI and modern content tools to improve research, editing, and production workflows.
  • Develop content and distribution opportunities that strengthen the quality, reach, and business impact of the content program.
  • Improve the systems and processes that help the content program scale.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in content marketing, content strategy, editorial, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writer and editor with a track record of elevating other writers through thoughtful feedback and high editorial standards.
  • Proven success leading a blog, newsletter, publication, or similarly scaled editorial program.
  • Experience managing freelancers, agencies, and other external contributors to deliver high-quality work at scale.
  • Strong command of business, entrepreneurship, finance, or similar subject matter.
  • Strong editorial judgment paired with a marketing mindset focused on audience and impact.
  • Comfortable working in remote-first, async environments.
  • Portfolio or work samples are required.
  • A short cover letter is required.
  • Experience with new technologies, evolving media formats, or audience discovery is a plus.

Benefits

  • Base salary plus equity (stock options/RSUs) and benefits.
  • Competitive compensation within the SaaS and fintech industry.
  • Salary range for US employees in NYC, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $158,200 - $197,800.
  • Salary range for US employees outside those metro areas: $142,400 - $178,000.
  • Salary range for Canadian employees: 149,500 CAD - 186,900 CAD.
