Description

  • Lead, manage, and grow a distributed team of data engineers across North America and India.
  • Architect the next-generation data stack and help shape the technical direction of the data platform.
  • Build proofs-of-concept to evaluate new tools, frameworks, and patterns before broader adoption.
  • Design, build, and optimize ETL pipelines that move and transform millions of daily data points.
  • Drive the migration away from Azure Databricks toward a more open and flexible stack.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to define technical strategy and platform decisions.
  • Establish testing, QA, observability, and CI/CD practices to ensure data integrity at scale.
  • Write code, design schemas, profile queries, and troubleshoot pipeline and system behavior hands-on.
  • Set technical standards through code reviews, design guidance, and mentorship.
  • Translate business needs from the Advertising and Market Research domain into technical requirements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering or ETL, with a strong hands-on background building data platforms.
  • Experience leading, managing, and mentoring data engineering teams, including distributed teams.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar.
  • Strong prompt-based development skills with good judgment about when human review is needed.
  • Expert-level SQL and RDBMS skills, with deep experience in SQL Server and Postgres.
  • Experience with schema design, performance tuning, complex query optimization, and root-cause analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with ClickHouse, dbt, and open-source data pipeline or orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
  • Strong hands-on AWS experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prototype, benchmark, and evaluate new technologies before adoption.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or a similar language for building and automating data pipelines.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in Advertising, Media, or Market Research is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code is a plus.
  • Experience with streaming or real-time technologies such as Kafka is a plus.
