Description

  • Oversee end-to-end billing, ensuring accurate and timely invoices aligned with contracts, pricing, product configurations, and billing schedules.
  • Validate and reconcile billing data across NetSuite, Salesforce, and related systems.
  • Coordinate sales tax activities and customer communications regarding changing tax requirements.
  • Partner with Sales, RevOps, Order Management, and Finance to resolve billing discrepancies and collections issues.
  • Support month-end close activities, including revenue and deferred revenue schedules.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, drive resolution of past-due balances, and manage customer disputes.
  • Develop collections strategies and report on aging trends, bad debt reserves, and other key metrics.
  • Supervise, train, develop, and support the hiring and onboarding of billing and collections team members.
  • Improve and automate billing and collections processes, including the use of AI, while maintaining internal controls and documentation.
  • Support financial reporting, annual audits, and internal and external inquiries related to invoices, accounts, and collections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in billing, collections, accounts receivable, or a similar function.
  • 1–2 years of supervisory or lead experience.
  • Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based technology environment preferred.
  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred; Salesforce and Avalara experience also preferred.
  • Strong understanding of order-to-cash workflows, including order entry, contract review, invoicing, and fulfillment.
  • Experience managing and developing teams and escalating issues to senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SaaS revenue recognition principles and ASC 606 preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, prioritization, and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
