Description

  • Own end-to-end customer engagements from discovery through production cut-over.
  • Architect multi-cloud deployments and build production-grade solutions.
  • Build complex data pipelines, models, and integrations across cloud data platforms.
  • Modify Matillion’s codebase when native platform features are not sufficient.
  • Deliver fast MVPs by diagnosing customer problems and refining scope.
  • Act as a cross-functional escalation point across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.
  • Train internal champions and create handover documentation for Customer Success and Support.
  • Support pre-sales technical discovery, proof-of-concepts, objection handling, and account strategy.
  • Identify repeatable delivery patterns and provide structured product feedback to influence the roadmap.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help improve hiring standards and delivery processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in production-grade software development and data integration.
  • Expert-level Python and SQL skills, with object-oriented programming experience in Java or Go.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, data architecture, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and secure enterprise networking.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Hands-on experience with scalable data pipelines and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical delivery, including pre-sales discovery, implementation, and escalation management.
  • Excellent communication skills for both executive and technical audiences.
  • Strong engineering judgment and systems thinking under ambiguity.
  • Disciplined use of AI tools to support delivery, with preferred experience in production LLMs, RAG, and AI agents.
  • Execution bias, high autonomy, deep customer empathy, and a founder mentality.
