Description

  • Write readable, scalable, and maintainable JavaScript/TypeScript code with an OOP approach.
  • Design and modify database structures while considering long-term impact and trade-offs.
  • Write clear documentation for delivered code and technical decisions.
  • Communicate feasible technical solutions and propose alternatives when needed.
  • Support architecture decisions and the long-term technical direction of projects.
  • Identify technical and product risks, scope changes, and blockers proactively.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and build strong client relationships.
  • Provide clients with options and context in difficult or unclear situations.
  • Lead backend practices by sharing knowledge, tracking trends, and helping others improve.
  • Perform thoughtful peer code reviews and help raise engineering standards across the team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of commercial experience in Node.js.
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including integration and database design.
  • Deep knowledge of at least one Node.js backend framework such as Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.
  • Experience with TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of SOLID and KISS principles.
  • Understanding of design and architecture patterns.
  • Basic AWS experience, including services such as S3, Cognito, SNS, and SQS.
  • Basic DevOps skills, including Docker and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience building and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and secure REST APIs; familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
  • Experience with ORMs or query builders such as Prisma or Knex.
  • Experience designing or building AI-powered applications or features using AI/LLM tools, embeddings, vector search, or prompt optimization.
  • Ability to use AI tools in engineering work while understanding their limitations and risks.
  • English level B2/C1 for working with American clients.
  • Polish level C1 for internal team communication.
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Open-source contributions, serverless experience, experience with multiple backend frameworks, and ADR documentation experience are nice to have.
