Description

  • Serve as an interim embedded resource in chapters to support day-to-day wish-granting operations during staffing shortages, leaves, and transitions.
  • Manage wish granting activities including qualification and onboarding, wish discovery and design, family, volunteer, and vendor engagement, budget management, documentation, and compliance.
  • Coordinate travel and non-travel wishes while maintaining alignment with national standards and best practices.
  • Rapidly assess chapter workflows, caseloads, and risk areas to prioritize work and stabilize wish pipelines.
  • Conduct operational assessments to identify performance improvements, risk mitigation opportunities, consistency gaps, and scalability needs.
  • Support chapters in using national in-kind partnerships, assets, and inventories to improve wish quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Identify, coordinate, and facilitate the transfer of wishes between chapters to support enterprise wish enablement efforts.
  • Partner with chapter leaders and national colleagues to remove barriers that delay or prevent wish fulfillment.
  • Ensure smooth handoffs, clear communication, and tracking of enabled wish progress and outcomes.
  • Provide stabilization support, document processes and transition notes, and advise chapter leaders during periods of organizational change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years of program management or shared services experience required.
  • Experience in a federated nonprofit organization or Make-A-Wish chapter experience preferred.
  • 2+ years in a people management or leadership role required.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit program delivery, volunteer recruitment, board and staff training, community development, budgeting, finance, operations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, research, data analysis, change management, program delivery, business planning, and board or committee support.
  • Salesforce and WVC proficiency required.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, required.
  • Ability to work in a remote environment and travel for internal and external meetings.
  • Ability to work outside standard Monday-Friday hours, including weekends and early evening weeknights.
