Description

  • Own and lead the global tax function across income tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing.
  • Develop and recommend tax strategies that reduce worldwide tax exposure while supporting business growth.
  • Advise executive leadership on international operating structure and lead implementation of structural changes.
  • Design, document, and maintain global transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and supporting documentation.
  • Lead US federal, state, and local tax compliance and planning, including US international tax considerations.
  • Oversee global income tax compliance, legal entity filings, and statutory filings across jurisdictions.
  • Manage global income tax audits and disputes, serving as the primary liaison with tax authorities.
  • Oversee indirect tax compliance globally, including US sales and use tax, Canadian GST/HST, VAT, and other foreign regimes.
  • Own the global income tax provision, including continuity schedules, working papers, memoranda, and transfer pricing entries.
  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop the tax team and improve tax policies, processes, controls, and supporting systems.

Requirements

  • CPA designation or equivalent, with post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Advanced tax qualification strongly preferred, such as a Master of Taxation, In-Depth Tax Program, or US CPA/JD with a tax focus.
  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant leadership of a multinational tax function.
  • Deep expertise in US tax, including US federal, state, and US international tax provisions.
  • Strong global tax expertise across multiple jurisdictions and complex international tax infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience designing and defending global transfer pricing policies and intercompany structures.
  • Experience planning tax strategies that minimize exposure while supporting commercial objectives and international entity structuring.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian income tax and indirect tax regulations, plus foreign income and indirect tax regimes.
  • Experience with income tax provisions under ASC 740 / IAS 12 and preparing or reviewing income tax working papers.
  • Experience managing tax audits and engaging directly with tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
