Description

  • Lead the front-end referral and admissions process, including benefit verification, prior authorizations, and re-authorizations.
  • Manage and develop the Acute Intake / Referral Management team, including goals, metrics, and performance expectations.
  • Establish and maintain intake workflows, communication protocols, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with Pharmacy Services, Nursing Services, Sales, and executive leadership to support end-to-end referral outcomes.
  • Serve as the escalation point for intake and referral issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Monitor SLAs, referral volume trends, and payer performance to adjust staffing and resources.
  • Support accreditation, quality improvement initiatives, audits, and HIPAA-compliant practices.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead change to improve patient, provider, and team experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing acute infusion or specialty therapy referrals, care coordination, or prescription services.
  • 3–5 years of reimbursement, payer, or authorization experience across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, setting metrics, and supporting performance improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of infusion therapies, intake qualifications, ICD-10, and referral documentation requirements.
  • Clear communication skills with patients, providers, payers, and internal partners.
  • Comfort balancing operational detail with strategic thinking in a growing environment.
  • High ownership, follow-through, and accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Office and Excel; CareTend experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.
