Description

  • Rapidly develop scalable, flexible, and high-performance backend systems.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve backend software and databases.
  • Build and maintain APIs using Python and Ruby on Rails.
  • Work with Redis, Postgres, and Cassandra in the product backend.
  • Handle DevOps tasks including server setup, maintenance, and recovery.
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team in an agile environment.
  • Support hiring efforts through interviewing and onboarding contributions.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as Redis, Postgres, or Cassandra.
  • Fluency in Python and Ruby on Rails.
  • Knowledge of web servers and web application servers such as Apache, Jetty, Tomcat, or IIS.
  • Experience with Git or similar code repositories.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and tight timelines.
  • Strong database design skills.
  • Ability to write high-quality code.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full-stack experience with ReactJS is a plus.
