Description

  • Provide security assurance for new and existing IT services, systems, devices, identities, digital platforms, and data.
  • Perform daily security operations, own operational incidents, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for core security tools, managing their lifecycle and training users.
  • Own backlog and roadmap items, deliver security solutions, and assess change initiatives for security compliance.
  • Remediate deficiencies and address findings from penetration tests, purple teaming, risk assessments, and audits.
  • Review changes for IT security impact and identify and assess newly discovered vulnerabilities.
  • Enforce security policies, procedures, and standards while identifying and managing exceptions.
  • Collaborate with NCC through the hybrid managed XDR service and participate in the IT Security on-call rota.
  • Support continuous security improvements across IT and public-facing websites and services.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of core IT concepts, including IT infrastructure and IT service management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand wider business and technical impacts.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, build, operate, improve, and deliver security outcomes.
  • Experience in cybersecurity and/or risk management is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Defender stack and Microsoft Sentinel is beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to go beyond standard tools through innovation, scripting, or development where needed.
  • Strong judgement, prioritisation, decision-making, and escalation skills under pressure.
  • Ability to manage workloads, meet commitments, protect confidential information, and collaborate effectively.
  • Willingness to participate in an IT Security on-call rota.
