Description

  • Maintain and improve the stability and performance of OpenSearch and Thanos infrastructure.
  • Develop and refine backend services in Kotlin for high-performance data handling.
  • Deploy, monitor, and scale services within the AWS environment, including EKS and EC2.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to implement best practices and ship new features.
  • Help improve throughput and query performance across the data pipeline.
  • Contribute to building more reliable and efficient backend systems as data needs grow.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
  • Strong Kotlin skills in a JVM environment.
  • Comfortable writing clean, testable code.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes and AWS.
  • Solid understanding of microservices and telemetry tools for debugging complex systems.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Copilot or LLMs as part of the development workflow.
  • Comfortable learning new technologies through documentation and self-directed problem solving.
  • Must currently reside in Poland.
  • Must hold a Blue Card or equivalent work authorization.
  • Must have legal documents to support contractor hiring in Poland, including B2B/EU VAT compliance.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch or the Prometheus/Thanos ecosystem is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Go (Golang) is a plus.
  • Experience with message brokers or streaming tools like Kafka is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
