Description

  • Maintain end-to-end integrity across the SmartGate hardware-software stack, including cameras, Jetson devices, networking, enclosures, and power systems.
  • Test new hardware generations, firmware versions, and software releases before fleet-wide rollout.
  • Build, configure, validate, and prepare complete hardware kits for customer deployments.
  • Verify power budget compliance for solar-capable configurations and coordinate setup expectations with installation contractors.
  • Deploy and update SmartGate software across a distributed fleet using the Ansible-based Fleet Management system.
  • Manage hardware inventory and prepare Jetson and camera kits for shipment to new sites.
  • Remotely diagnose and resolve fleet failures, including pipeline lockups, camera connectivity issues, and networking misconfigurations.
  • Perform on-site visits when issues cannot be resolved remotely.
  • Develop commissioning runbooks and validation procedures for deployments.
  • Collaborate with the Computer Vision team on hardware-side model validation and root cause analysis for missed or incorrect gate events.
  • Benchmark workloads across AXIS camera hardware and Jetson devices to determine the best execution location for each pipeline component.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of production experience with embedded or server-side Linux, including service configuration, log analysis, and process-level debugging.
  • 2+ years writing Python and/or Bash for production use in Linux or embedded environments.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, including subnets, VLANs, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
  • Experience with cellular/LTE connectivity and isolating edge-to-cloud connectivity failures.
  • Production experience integrating edge compute platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson or comparable devices, IP cameras, and supporting hardware into validated systems.
  • Working knowledge of DC power constraints and solar-capable configurations.
  • Experience configuring, testing, and troubleshooting IP cameras in production environments.
  • Experience with real-time video transport protocols such as RTSP and SRT.
  • Understanding of video codecs such as H.265/HEVC, plus encoding parameters and image fundamentals relevant to edge computer vision systems.
  • Track record of diagnosing and resolving hardware and software failures without physical device access, including use of Ansible or similar fleet management tools.
  • Ability to document technical findings clearly and coordinate with contractors, engineering teammates, and customer contacts.
  • NVIDIA Jetson experience is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with edge AI inference pipelines such as NVIDIA DeepStream, Savant, and TensorRT is preferred.
  • Experience with AXIS camera systems and the AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker in embedded or edge computing environments is preferred.
  • Background in logistics, warehousing, or industrial technology is a plus.
  • Experience authoring operational documentation, kit validation procedures, or runbooks in a process-building environment is preferred.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship is offered.
