Description

  • Conduct remote sensing analytics and modeling for forestry, land use, carbon sequestration, biodiversity, conservation planning, and climate resilience.
  • Analyze large geospatial and remote sensing datasets, including satellite imagery, LiDAR, SAR, and multispectral data.
  • Design and implement predictive, statistical, and machine learning models to support project analysis and decision-making.
  • Develop scalable analytical and reporting tools such as maps, web apps, and dashboards.
  • Automate statistical and geospatial analysis workflows using Python, R, or other programming languages.
  • Maintain GIS data collection, storage, quality, consistency, and version control across team members.
  • Integrate data from Land, Forestry, and Carbon teams to support commercial initiatives.
  • Provide technical mapping support and collaborate cross-functionally with Land, Forestry, and Carbon teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve geospatial workflows and contribute to best practices.
  • Support research and development efforts and help identify new project opportunities.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, GIS, Spatial Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • More than 2 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, Java, SQL, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with geospatial libraries and machine learning analytics.
  • Strong GIS and remote sensing expertise, including ArcGIS, QGIS, or Google Earth Engine.
  • Experience working with Landsat, Sentinel, MODIS, GEDI, or similar remote sensing datasets.
  • Knowledge of geostatistics, predictive modeling, and spatiotemporal analysis.
  • Experience building data pipelines, ETL processes, and spatial databases.
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills for explaining complex findings to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with reforestation, natural climate solutions, carbon markets, and reporting frameworks (preferred).
  • Experience with big data tools for large-scale geospatial processing (preferred).
  • Knowledge of forestry, conservation, environmental, or climate sciences (preferred).
  • Experience developing and managing dynamic databases for remote sensing analyses (preferred).
  • Proficiency in web apps, dashboards, and visualization tools (preferred).
