Description

  • Mentor DevOps engineers and promote automation, GitOps, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Design and implement scalable infrastructure automation across GCP and on-premises environments using Terraform and GitOps.
  • Manage and harden GKE clusters, including node pools, access control, GKE Fleet, and scalability.
  • Operate and extend the GitOps delivery pipeline built on FluxCD and related controllers.
  • Manage secret lifecycles using HashiCorp Vault, GCP Secret Manager, and SOPS/KMS encryption.
  • Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
  • Manage the service mesh with Istio, including mTLS, traffic management, and progressive delivery with Flagger.
  • Enforce platform policies with OPA Gatekeeper and support compliance with security standards.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud and on-prem environments using observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Kiali, and Fluent Bit.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and drive incident response under a 'You Build It, You Run It' model.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or SRE roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with GCP, including GKE, IAM, VPC networking, GKE Fleet, Workload Identity Federation, and GCP Secret Manager.
  • Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code across complex, multi-environment setups.
  • Solid Kubernetes experience, including cluster operations, node pools, RBAC, network policies, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with GitOps principles and FluxCD or equivalent tools such as ArgoCD in production.
  • Hands-on experience with Istio or another service mesh, including traffic management, mTLS, and observability.
  • Experience with HashiCorp Vault for secrets management and access policy enforcement.
  • Experience with OPA Gatekeeper and External Secrets Operator for Kubernetes secret synchronization.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and/or Python.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and log aggregation pipelines.
  • Demonstrated real-world use of AI or LLM tools to improve infrastructure work, such as troubleshooting, policy generation, network policy design, or workload optimization.
  • Must be authorized to work in Bulgaria.
  • Experience with ScaleOps or similar resource optimization platforms is preferred.
  • Experience with Cilium or other eBPF-based Kubernetes CNI tools is preferred.
  • Experience with Flagger for progressive delivery and automated canary rollbacks is preferred.
  • Experience with KEDA for event-driven autoscaling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SOPS and KMS for secret encryption in GitOps workflows is preferred.
