Description

  • Translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences with cross-functional teams.
  • Identify regulatory constraints, risks, ambiguities, eligibility requirements, business rules, and edge cases.
  • Create policy briefs, decision frameworks, process flows, and other decision-support artifacts.
  • Support testing and validation of policy implementation, including scenario and edge-case testing.
  • Conduct comparative and landscape research on evolving policies and their implementation implications.
  • Synthesize research into clear written and verbal recommendations for internal and external audiences.
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders and identify partnership, advocacy, and thought-leadership opportunities.
  • Contribute to advocacy strategy development and execution.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of policy analysis experience, or equivalent graduate-level education and experience.
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, or implementing policies and programs in public benefits or other highly regulated domains.
  • Understanding of public programs, ideally across multiple levels of government.
  • Experience contributing to public comments, policy proposals, legislative processes, regulatory rulemaking, lobbying, advocacy, or related work.
  • Ability to turn policy research and signals into technical recommendations and advocacy opportunities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical and policy contexts.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to document research, findings, and recommendations clearly and concisely.
  • Self-directed, resourceful, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Experience with agile delivery and human-centered design, government technology modernization, civic tech, or large-scale systems change preferred.
  • Graduate degree in public policy, public administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship and able to meet applicable government contract requirements; background checks or security clearances may apply.
