Description

  • Translate stakeholder business requirements into data engineering solutions.
  • Design and oversee scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable data architecture and infrastructure.
  • Define data models and schemas based on business needs and data characteristics.
  • Select and integrate databases, data lakes, data warehouses, and big data frameworks.
  • Define data governance, privacy, security, compliance, quality, and integrity practices.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional teams to enable analysis, reporting, and system integration.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data engineering teams throughout implementation.
  • Oversee solution implementation against design documents and technical specifications.
  • Analyze and optimize system performance, resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Document architecture, infrastructure, design decisions, and implementation guidance.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience as a Data Architect, including at least 4 years working with GCP cloud infrastructure and systems.
  • Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud computing services.
  • Strong experience in data and analytics, including data modeling, ETL, pipelines, and governance.
  • Expertise designing and implementing scalable data processing frameworks and distributed computing solutions.
  • Knowledge of relational, NoSQL, columnar databases, data lakes, data warehouses, and big data frameworks.
  • Knowledge of modern data transformation tools such as dbt and Dataform, plus at least one orchestration or scheduling tool.
  • Programming skills in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience selecting and integrating technologies to meet business requirements and long-term data strategy.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Experience leading or mentoring data engineering teams and working in agile environments.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, security regulations, and governance best practices.
  • Preferred: cloud or big data certifications, BI tools, Talend or Alteryx, Apache Spark, Databricks, or Azure experience.
