Description

  • Translate business requirements into data engineering solution designs and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to define data requirements for analysis and reporting.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and best-practice support to data engineering teams.
  • Oversee solution implementation to ensure alignment with architecture and design documentation.
  • Analyze and optimize data engineering system performance, resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, validation, and monitoring across engineering processes.
  • Integrate data engineering solutions with other systems and applications.
  • Contribute technical input to project planning, estimation, and delivery.
  • Document data architecture, infrastructure, and key design decisions.
  • Evaluate emerging data engineering technologies and recommend appropriate innovations.

Requirements

  • 9–12 years of experience as a Data Engineering Architect or in a similar Data & Analytics role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft and Azure data tools, including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, SSIS, Microsoft Fabric, Logic Apps, and Function Apps.
  • Experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Asset Bundles.
  • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, data pipelines, data governance, and scalable data-processing frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions on Azure.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data lakes, data warehouses, and big-data frameworks such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Understanding of distributed computing principles, including parallel processing, data partitioning, and fault tolerance.
  • Experience leading and mentoring data engineering teams, working in agile environments, and managing project timelines.
  • Active sole proprietorship (B2B) maintained throughout the freelance agreement.
