Description

  • Build reliable systems and easy-to-use interfaces with clean, well-tested code.
  • Participate in code reviews, peer programming, debugging, and incident response.
  • Collaborate on technical discussions and architecture decisions to improve quality and scalability.
  • Estimate work and partner with product teams on planning and MVP definition.
  • Conduct research, chapter reviews, and meetups to support learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Coach and mentor developers to help them grow and improve over time.
  • Work on shared libraries, contribute to open source content, and define development best practices.
  • Support organizational objectives beyond the immediate scope of the role.
  • Help create or improve products and incorporate customer feedback to improve merchant outcomes.

Requirements

  • Principal, Staff, or tech lead-level experience as a Software Engineer in fullstack, frontend, or backend roles.
  • Deep understanding of modern web application development, tools, and techniques.
  • Extensive practical experience in either frontend or backend development.
  • Experience building modern frontend applications with frameworks that consume APIs, or backend systems that design and build RESTful APIs.
  • Experience integrating applications with data storage layers.
  • Strong understanding of core web concepts, including HTTP, security principles, and full-stack system interactions.
  • Experience delivering architectural change in one or more large, complex systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including working effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
