Description

  • Own the hospitality or retail hardware portfolio end to end, including what is sold, where it is sold, and how it evolves from launch through deprecation.
  • Define and execute a multi-quarter roadmap aligned to the broader hardware strategy, manage dependencies, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Lead new hardware initiatives from discovery and requirements through vendor selection, validation, launch, iteration, and in-field support.
  • Work directly with merchants to identify workflow friction and translate insights into product roadmap priorities.
  • Drive supplier accountability on feature set, quality, cost, and lead times, and use field signals such as RMAs and support tickets to guide corrective actions.
  • Lead cross-functional execution with Product, Design, Hardware Ops, Support, GTM, Finance, and Legal to launch products cleanly and improve profitability.
  • Build and maintain quality systems for the hardware ecosystem, including test frameworks, validation gates, and acceptance criteria.
  • Investigate hardware failures, perform root cause analysis, define containment actions, and ensure follow-through on corrective actions.
  • Maintain supplier performance tracking and incoming inspection plans, and support return triage and disposition decisions.
  • Publish quality dashboards and narrative reports for stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience in a hardware or hardware-enabled SaaS environment, with at least 1–2 end-to-end launches shipped.
  • Demonstrated ownership of the full hardware lifecycle from discovery and requirements through selection, testing, launch, iteration, and deprecation.
  • Direct experience with hospitality workflows such as payments, POS, mobile POS, kitchen display systems, kiosks, and networking.
  • Cross-functional leadership experience across Product, Design, Operations/Supply Chain, Support, and GTM.
  • Extreme ownership and ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and operate effectively in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong merchant empathy and product judgment, with the ability to turn customer insights into clear product specifications.
  • Data-driven decision-making using unit economics, cohort analysis, defect trends, and supplier performance data.
  • Practical understanding of hardware constraints including manufacturing, reliability, packaging, and compliance.
  • Experience in hardware quality, supplier quality, reliability engineering, or manufacturing quality for devices, peripherals, or accessories, with 7+ years preferred for the quality-focused role.
  • Experience creating test plans, validation protocols, sampling plans, and launch quality gates.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware in the field using networking basics, peripherals knowledge, and device OS behavior/logs.
  • Proven experience with root cause analysis, CAPA/8D processes, and supplier management including scorecards, audits, and escalations.
  • Strong analytical ability to extract and interpret data from RMAs, support tickets, and operational systems.
  • Experience collaborating with product, hardware operations, support, and sales teams.
  • Fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
