Description

  • Serve as the lead responsible engineer for industrial hygiene and conventional safety programs across all fabrication areas.
  • Develop and maintain job hazard analyses and integrate them with radiological work permits.
  • Own monitoring programs for chemical exposures, noise, heat stress, and ergonomic hazards.
  • Manage respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and other OSHA-mandated occupational health programs.
  • Lead confined space, lockout/tagout, hot work, and machine guarding programs.
  • Support process hazard analysis and facility safety basis reviews for new or modified processes.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform causal analysis, and track corrective actions to closure.
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping and support regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Develop and deliver industrial safety training and qualification programs.
  • Partner on emergency preparedness planning for non-radiological scenarios such as chemical release, fire, and medical events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial hygiene or safety engineering experience in a manufacturing, metals processing, or industrial facility environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards (29 CFR 1910), including PPE, respiratory protection, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Experience developing and implementing job hazard analyses and exposure monitoring programs.
  • Ability to work effectively with radiological controls personnel in a mixed industrial/radiological environment.
  • Strong documentation skills, including procedures, JHAs, and regulatory recordkeeping.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential, or actively pursuing certification (preferred).
  • Experience in metals melting, casting, or extrusion environments; uranium alloy experience is a strong plus (preferred).
  • Familiarity with combined radiological/industrial hazard facilities and integrated safety management systems (ISMS) (preferred).
  • Experience supporting facility startup, readiness reviews, or process hazard analyses for new manufacturing lines (preferred).
