Description

  • Design, build, and optimize backend services and front-end experiences for scheduling, task management, and provider-patient workflows.
  • Evolve platform APIs, data models, UI component libraries, and service boundaries across the Node.js and React stack.
  • Collaborate with product, QA, and design teams to deliver features from the data layer through the user interface.
  • Participate in and improve the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, code review, automated testing, deployment, and post-release monitoring.
  • Support other developers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing on design patterns, testing, and observability.
  • Partner with DevOps and Security to maintain high availability, resilience, and SOC-2/HIPAA compliance.
  • Contribute to technical reviews and help shape the roadmap for core platform domains.
  • Improve internal documentation, migration strategies, and coding standards across full stack systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong depth in both backend and frontend development.
  • Strong proficiency with Node.js/TypeScript on the backend and React or a similar modern frontend framework.
  • Experience with MongoDB or a similar database, Redis or message queues such as BullMQ or SQS, and RESTful API design.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and responsive, accessible UI development.
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and third-party integrations such as EHRs, pharmacies, or telehealth APIs.
  • Familiarity with AWS and container orchestration tools such as ECS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience working in regulated or healthcare-adjacent environments, including SOC-2 or HIPAA, is a strong plus.
  • Ability to balance architectural thinking with hands-on coding and code reviews across the full stack.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and explain technical tradeoffs clearly.
  • Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, or service federation is preferred.
  • Background in workflow engines or job scheduling systems is preferred.
  • Experience contributing to migrations from monoliths to microservices is preferred.
  • Familiarity with design systems, WCAG accessibility standards, or frontend performance optimization is preferred.
