Description

  • Own daily operations for the assigned service line, including workload balancing, queue management, and task reassignment based on volume, licensure, and capacity.
  • Serve as the first-line escalation point for clinical issues before they reach clinical management or the Medical Director.
  • Triage and resolve clinical escalations from clinicians and handle the most complex patients when needed.
  • Partner with operations on staffing, scheduling, and capacity planning for the service line.
  • Contribute to and own clinical protocol updates and serve as the protocol steward for the specialty.
  • Lead the appropriate 6S program and participate in quality and safety improvement efforts.
  • Mentor NP Is and NP IIs and act as a primary trainer during onboarding.
  • Participate in weekly clinical team meetings to review service-line updates and trainings.
  • Maintain active clinical practice while carrying a reduced patient panel to allow time for leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered NP license in FNP, AGNP, or AGACNP; compact RN license required for multistate practice.
  • National board certification from AANP or ANCC.
  • 2+ years as a Clinical NP II, or 3+ years of equivalent external NP experience with successful internal credentialing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across at least two service lines before cross-training to the third.
  • Clean QA and KPI performance for two consecutive quarters.
  • Telehealth licensure in a minimum of 25 states.
  • Full DEA/CDS portfolio matching state licensure.
  • Comfort with EMR-based documentation and asynchronous care delivery.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the service line being led.
  • Consistent top-quartile KPI performance for four consecutive quarters.
  • PMHNP certification for a Mental Health Service Lead, in lieu of or in addition to FNP.
  • ABOM certification for a Weight Management Service Lead.
  • Demonstrated leadership training, such as internal programs or external equivalents like AONL or ANCC nursing leadership.
  • Licensed MD or DO preferred.
  • Track record of peer mentorship, protocol contribution, or process improvement preferred.
