Description

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and caregivers, providing compassionate education on disease state, therapy options, access pathways, and support services.
  • Oversee patient access coordination, including affordability program enrollment, benefit verification, prior authorization, site-of-care logistics, and therapy initiation support.
  • Deliver personalized patient care by assessing individual needs and creating tailored education and resource plans.
  • Provide hands-on logistical assistance, including in-person support at treatment centers when needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Sales, Field Reimbursement, Advocacy, and Marketing to improve the patient experience and resolve access challenges.
  • Partner with external stakeholders including care coordinators, office staff, and infusion sites to anticipate and address access barriers.
  • Monitor payer trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes to adapt support strategies and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Build relationships through advocacy group involvement, rare disease events, and national conference participation.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of patient needs, available resources, and national access dynamics to support patients at the regional level.
  • Follow HIPAA, FDA, and OIG requirements and accurately document adverse events and product complaints.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or biotech roles.
  • Prior experience in patient support, account management, reimbursement, HUB/patient services, or market access is preferred.
  • Experience engaging patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals with empathy and trust-building communication skills.
  • Experience in rare disease, buy and bill, specialty pharmacy, and provider/hospital processes is required.
  • Prior launch experience is preferred.
  • Experience with specialty or high-cost therapies in chronic or acute care settings is required.
  • Experience launching new therapies into infusion sites or home infusion is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with complex patient case management is required.
  • Strong understanding of payer, PBM, and specialty pharmacy interdependencies, including government and private payer access and reimbursement challenges.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and stay highly organized.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA, and OIG guidelines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-centric and flexible approach.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability is preferred.
  • Must reside in the assigned territory.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
