Description

  • Monitor the CSS request channel during assigned coverage hours.
  • Respond to requests and connect with students who meet CSS support criteria.
  • Triage learner situations and refer them to appropriate community resources such as food banks, mental health providers, or medical bill relief funds.
  • Follow up with students when additional outreach is needed.
  • Support learners experiencing emotional distress, basic needs issues, grief, or other urgent concerns.
  • Identify rare life-threatening situations and escalate them appropriately, including notifying authorities when required.
  • Coordinate with the CSS Director on complex or high-risk cases.
  • Maintain coverage of the CSS Slack channel during scheduled shifts.

Requirements

  • Full-time availability with an 8-hour daily shift on the CSS Slack channel.
  • Ability to cover the channel between 5 AM and 6 PM Pacific Time Monday through Thursday and 5 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time on Friday.
  • Ideal availability to work a 9 AM to 6 PM PT shift, with some flexibility.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
