Description

  • Own the architecture and evolution of the data platform to support large-scale, real-time, and batch data processing.
  • Design and deliver systems for analytics, experimentation, event tracking, and usage metering.
  • Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance, and data quality through strong engineering practices and observability.
  • Drive best practices in data engineering, system design, tooling, and operational excellence.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data and platform engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Partner closely with Product, AI, Growth, and Marketing teams to understand data needs and translate them into scalable solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Treat the platform as a product: improve developer experience, usability, and adoption while defining and tracking KPIs (adoption, reliability, performance).
  • Optimize infrastructure for cost efficiency and performance at scale and continuously evaluate tools, technologies, and processes to improve ROI, including support for AI research and training data needs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software or data engineering, including 2+ years in engineering management.
  • Proven technical depth and strong architecture judgment with experience making architectural trade-offs and leading large initiatives.
  • Experience building and scaling data platforms or distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with backend technologies in the Node.js / JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Practical experience with systems such as Spark, streaming platforms, and data pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and analytics systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data stack tools.
  • Strong communication skills with experience working cross-functionally across business teams.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML workflows, experimentation platforms, or growth analytics (preferred).
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies like React.js for building internal tools or dashboards and experience handling data systems at consumer scale (millions of users) is a plus.
