Description

  • Lead professional learning sessions that strengthen educators' implementation of high-quality instructional materials.
  • Help participants identify the purpose of mathematics activities and connect them across lessons and units.
  • Facilitate Launch, Work Time, and Synthesis phases that center student thinking.
  • Use high-impact instructional routines that promote meaningful mathematical discourse.
  • Apply planning processes to anticipate instructional connections across activities and units.
  • Build on student ideas, representations, and reasoning to deepen mathematical understanding.
  • Attend facilitator orientation and participate in a 1.5-hour facilitation practice session.
  • Join optional office hours and preparation support before the event.
  • Set up, deliver, and debrief the August 19, 2026 professional learning session.

Requirements

  • Experience facilitating professional learning for teachers, instructional coaches, or school leaders.
  • Strong knowledge of high-quality mathematics instruction, preferably in grades K–8.
  • Familiarity with the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and adult learning skills.
  • Ability to create engaging, collaborative, and practice-based learning experiences.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to respond flexibly to participant needs.
  • Availability for July–August 2026 facilitator preparation activities.
  • Availability for the August 19, 2026 event, including approximately 6.5 hours of facilitation time.
  • Short-term contractor status for this engagement.

Benefits
