Description

  • Build and scale the SE team by recruiting, interviewing, and closing top customer-facing technical talent.
  • Define hiring standards and create onboarding programs that help new SEs succeed.
  • Design the SE operating system, including discovery frameworks, engagement models, deliverable workflows, and capacity planning.
  • Develop stage-appropriate processes and infrastructure that make the team effective and efficient at scale.
  • Set the direction for an automation-first, AI-native SE function from the ground up.
  • Coach and develop team members through deal reviews, direct feedback, and ongoing growth support.
  • Maintain a high performance bar and handle difficult conversations with clarity and empathy.
  • Partner closely with AEs, product, engineering, and customer success as the bridge between EPD and GTM.
  • Capture and operationalize customer and field feedback so it informs product decisions.

Requirements

  • Experience standing up a team or function from scratch, including hiring, process design, and culture setting.
  • A practical AI vision for pre-sales, including a pipeline from input collection to AI-generated deliverables and human review.
  • Technical credibility to engage in technical conversations and position technical products to technical audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset that treats AEs as true partners in shared sales success.
  • Strong recruiting instincts, with a clear view of what great SE talent looks like and experience finding and developing it.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to thrive in early-stage, unstructured environments.
  • Experience leading from a leadership role rather than spending all day in individual deals or POCs.
  • First-principles thinking about how an SE function should work when AI can generate customer deliverables at scale.
  • Not a fit for candidates whose experience is limited to optimizing existing teams or who want rigid structure before starting.
  • Not a fit for candidates who view SE as a service desk rather than a strategic partner to sales.
