Description

  • Translate construction-team user needs into AI opportunities and technical requirements with product teams.
  • Design lean, fit-for-purpose AI/LLM solutions that balance quality, performance, and cost.
  • Own the AI feature lifecycle from exploration and prototyping through deployment, evaluation, and iteration.
  • Build production-grade application code that integrates AI capabilities into Shape products.
  • Use prompt engineering, model selection, fine-tuning, and evaluation to develop AI features.
  • Collaborate with SRE teams on infrastructure, scalability, observability, reliability, and security for AI features.
  • Continuously assess developments in LLMs and generative AI through a pragmatic, product-first lens.

Requirements

  • Strong experience applying LLMs and generative AI to real-world problems.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks and tools such as LangChain, Transformers, and OpenAI APIs.
  • Experience with multi-model evaluation and feedback loops.
  • Production experience with embeddings, vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or FAISS, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Familiarity with MLOps tooling and observability for inference pipelines.
  • Ability to rapidly test ideas and deliver simple, clear, iterative solutions.
  • Clear communication skills for working with engineers, designers, product teams, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with production environments, APIs, and containerised systems such as Docker and Kubernetes (preferred).
  • Participation in AI communities, research papers, or open-source projects (preferred).
