Description

  • Systematically review AccuWeather graphics and identify opportunities for improvement and updated standards.
  • Work with graphic development teams to design and implement improved graphics across web, apps, network, business, marketing, and subscription products.
  • Review proposed changes with AccuWeather leadership to secure buy-in before implementation.
  • Collaborate with teams to prioritize workload and move graphic updates forward efficiently.
  • Help develop better maps, charts, graphs, and other visual displays for AccuWeather properties.
  • Increase the use of AI in creating maps, graphs, charts, and related graphics.
  • Work with a small team of meteorologists and designers to make informed decisions about map and display design.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or Meteorology.
  • 2+ years of experience designing weather maps and displays.
  • Understanding of weather data, its formats, and forecast models is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of Baron’s is beneficial.
  • Experience using AI for graphic creation is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Ability to multitask while staying detail oriented.
