Description

  • Assist companies with multi-state unclaimed property matters, including assessments, audit defense, and voluntary disclosure agreements.
  • Prepare clients for examinations by explaining expected requests and the review process.
  • Represent clients in discussions with auditors and respond to information document requests.
  • Track client requests and submissions and assist with record review, including tax documents, accounting records, and policies and procedures.
  • Perform data analysis to identify potential unclaimed property risks.
  • Develop and present strategies to mitigate unclaimed property exposure.
  • Draft final deliverables and reports for client and state submission.
  • Support client engagements with a willingness to travel up to 30%.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of unclaimed property professional experience; prior consulting experience is preferred.
  • Experience with unclaimed property consulting engagements, including audit defense, voluntary disclosure agreement programs, and policy and procedure work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to produce high-quality, professional deliverables on schedule and within budget.
  • Strong time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex unclaimed property concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and work effectively in varied situations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, engineering, information systems, or a similar field.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%; preference for candidates near the Nashville, Indianapolis, or Denver offices, with remote work available for the right candidate.
