Description

  • Manage daily operations of customer-facing CDI projects across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Ensure high-quality execution of CDI assessments, medical record reviews, and provider education initiatives.
  • Develop and implement CDI policies, procedures, and workflows aligned with best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in documentation integrity, coding compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Advise client leadership and provider teams on CDI best practices, medical necessity, and accurate coding.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for providers, clinical staff, and coding teams.
  • Collaborate with internal and client teams to design project plans, governance frameworks, and change management strategies.
  • Facilitate project meetings and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
  • Monitor project scope and support contract amendment development and execution when needed.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on CDI performance metrics, trends, and financial impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a health-related field is required.
  • MBA, MHA, and/or MPH is highly desirable.
  • 5 to 7 years of CDI experience is required.
  • At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience is required.
  • Previous experience in a professional services or consulting role is essential.
  • Registered Nurse (RN), RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, CCDS, CDIP, CPC, or equivalent clinical/coding credential is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of CMS guidelines, documentation requirements, and coding standards is required.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding concepts, MS-DRG methodology, SOI/ROM, quality measures, and risk adjustment is required.
  • Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously is required.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, including benefit tracking and ROI analysis, is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to educate and influence clinical and non-clinical stakeholders are required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to client sites as needed is required.
