Description

  • Own end-to-end delivery of core authentication and authorization features, including design, implementation, rollout, and observability.
  • Build and maintain login flows, MFA, SSO enhancements, SCIM, sessions, and role and permission enforcement.
  • Help extract authentication and authorization capabilities from the legacy monolith into dedicated microservices.
  • Develop shared SDKs and service contracts that help internal teams adopt IAM capabilities securely and quickly.
  • Collaborate with Organizations & Accounts on org-scoped identity, multi-account SSO, and enterprise account models.
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, and Platform Integrity teams on account protection and anti-abuse patterns.
  • Improve service reliability and performance through metrics, alerting, debugging, on-call support, and incident reviews.
  • Define authentication and authorization standards for platform APIs, error handling, audit logging, and integration patterns.

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Experience building or operating web services or APIs backed by relational databases and/or caches such as MySQL, Postgres, or Redis.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts such as sessions, tokens, OAuth, SSO, MFA, and RBAC.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows including code review, testing, deployments, and on-call support.
  • Experience shipping and supporting production backend or full-stack systems.
  • Strong debugging ability with logs, metrics, traces, data models, API design, concurrency, and failure modes.
  • Experience with identity providers or identity protocols such as SAML, OIDC, enterprise SSO, SCIM, OAuth, or API key management is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-native infrastructure such as AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kong, or similar API gateways and service meshes is a plus.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or internal logging and metrics frameworks is a plus.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $116,000 to $174,000 USD for US locations.
  • Eligibility for the company’s annual cash bonus plan.
  • Equity may be included in the total compensation package.
  • Sign-on payments may be included in the total compensation package.
