Description

  • Serve as counsel to product teams on product development, feature launches, terms of service, and user-facing policies.
  • Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to artificial intelligence, including governance, data use, bias, transparency, and emerging regulation.
  • Provide guidance on intellectual property matters involving software, AI-generated content, and product features.
  • Identify and address legal risks in product roadmaps and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Privacy, Security, and Trust & Safety teams to support product compliance.
  • Develop and maintain internal legal playbooks, templates, and training materials.
  • Assess legal exposure and create proactive risk mitigation strategies across the business.
  • Support pre-litigation matters, including claim assessment, outside counsel coordination, and efficient resolution.
  • Manage litigation holds and support discovery processes as needed.
  • Partner with internal business teams, including Finance, Collections, and Sales/Go-To-Market, on policies, compliance, and protective measures.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
  • 4-7 years of experience, with law firm litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong litigation foundation, including dispute assessment, outside counsel management, and discovery experience.
  • Experience advising on technology or product-related legal matters.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of AI tools and how to use them to expedite and streamline workflows.
  • Prior experience with AI, machine learning, or emerging technology legal issues (preferred).
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA (preferred).
  • In-house experience at a technology company and experience with software or AI-related intellectual property (preferred).
  • Comfort with fast-paced, high-growth environments and strong business acumen/product intuition (preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for onboarding, meetings, client or partner work, and industry events.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $176,000 to $264,000 USD for U.S. locations.
  • Eligibility for the company’s annual cash bonus plan.
  • Equity compensation and sign-on payments may be included.
