Description

  • Serve as counsel to product teams on product development, feature launches, terms of service, and user-facing policies.
  • Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to artificial intelligence, including governance, data use, bias, transparency, and emerging regulations.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters involving software, AI-generated content, and product features.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks in product roadmaps and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Privacy, Security, and Trust & Safety teams to support product compliance.
  • Develop and maintain legal playbooks, templates, and training materials.
  • Assess legal exposure and help shape proactive risk mitigation strategies across the business.
  • Support pre-litigation matters, including claim assessment, outside counsel coordination, and efficient resolution efforts.
  • Manage litigation holds and support discovery processes when needed.
  • Partner with internal business teams, including Finance, Collections, Sales, and Go-To-Market, on policies and compliance matters.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
  • 4-7 years of experience, with law firm litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong litigation foundation, including dispute assessment, outside counsel management, and discovery experience.
  • Experience advising on technology or product-related legal matters.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of AI tools and how to use them to streamline workflows.
  • Prior experience with AI, machine learning, or emerging technology legal issues is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA is preferred.
  • In-house experience at a technology company is preferred.
  • Experience with intellectual property, particularly software or AI-related IP, is preferred.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-growth environments is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and product intuition are preferred.
  • This role may require up to 10% travel.
  • The base salary range for US locations is $176,000 to $264,000 USD.
