Description

  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve malware, spam, IP blocklisting, and DMCA issues while keeping customers informed.
  • Investigate and resolve malware cases escalated from the Support team.
  • Write and document new malware signature rules for customer scanning tools.
  • Document remediation workflows for malware infections and blocklisted IP removal requests.
  • Monitor internal tools to identify spam email sending, IP blocklisting, and platform misuse.
  • Alert customers to security or abuse issues and track their progress toward resolution.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams to improve malware detection and remediation tools.
  • Receive, validate, and process DMCA notices and counternotices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information for resource overuse or abuse cases and recommend plan upgrades when needed.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English with excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience detecting, investigating, and resolving malware infections, primarily in PHP and JavaScript.
  • Experience writing and applying regular expressions.
  • Familiarity with WordPress database structure, file/directory structure, wp-config.php directives, and common malware vectors.
  • Comfort working in a command-line environment.
  • Strong professionalism, reliability, and self-motivation in a distributed team.
  • Previous experience in web hosting and/or WordPress technical support (preferred).
  • Understanding of Linux, NGINX, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP, DNS, CDN, and caching (object and page) (preferred).
  • Experience investigating outbound email spam processes and other platform abuse situations (preferred).
  • Must be available to work shifts within EMEA time zones using UTC scheduling.
