Description

  • Translate and adapt scripts and dialogue as subtitle translators with cultural nuance and accuracy.
  • Review and quality check subtitles to ensure they are flawless and audience-ready.
  • Create SDH (Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) content that is accessible and inclusive.
  • Develop high-quality subtitle templates for global localization projects.
  • Submit an English CV and detailed subtitling experience for future freelance consideration.
  • Collaborate within changing workflows and processes when project opportunities become available.

Requirements

  • Native proficiency in the target language.
  • Strong command of the source language.
  • Experience in localization QC, audiovisual translation, or subtitling in the entertainment industry.
  • Experience with subtitle editing software and web/cloud technology.
  • Deep understanding of closed captioning, subtitling, and their common failures and technical challenges.
  • Solid understanding of subtitle and dub translation nuances.
  • Working knowledge of cultural differences and best practices for subtitle and dub audio creation.
  • University degree or equivalent professional experience in translation.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to workflow and process changes.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, analytical, and multitasking skills.
  • English CV required; non-English CVs will not be considered.
  • Signing an NDA is required before starting the recruitment process.
  • Preferred consideration for candidates with relevant subtitling and localization experience.
