Description

  • Build the Risk Intelligence function from the ground up, including developing the team over time.
  • Identify gaps between intended processes and actual execution and drive corrective action.
  • Work directly with insured clients to understand how their operations work in practice.
  • Review client SOPs to verify they are clearly documented, implemented, and followed.
  • Provide practical guidance to improve client safety, compliance, and operational maturity.
  • Assess carrier vetting and onboarding practices, including safety, financial standing, licensing, insurance, and compliance checklists.
  • Partner with underwriting to improve risk selection and with claims to identify loss patterns and prevent repeat losses.
  • Design scalable processes, SOP audit frameworks, and an enterprise risk management approach.
  • Conduct client reviews and operational assessments by video call and occasional on-site visits.
  • Advise the underwriting team using insights gathered from field-based client work.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of hands-on experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations at the enterprise risk level.
  • Strong analytical ability and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Deep working knowledge of SOP design and rollout, motor carrier vetting and onboarding, risk management and loss control, and contractual liability and exposure management.
  • Proven experience building process frameworks and risk structures rather than only operating within existing ones.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously and maintain clear priorities without constant escalation.
  • Full professional English proficiency.
  • Based in the United States with work authorization.
  • Able to travel 15% to 20% for client visits and industry conferences.
  • Confidence working directly with clients and executives and influencing change.
  • Preferred certifications in logistics, transportation, or risk management.
  • Direct experience with operational breakdowns, execution failures, complex contractual disputes, crisis response, rapid scaling, cargo theft and security exposures, large-loss events, high-value verdicts, regulatory fines and penalties, and TMS failures.
  • Working knowledge of logistics management systems, carrier databases, and standard data tools such as Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to advise and support an underwriting team with operational and risk insight.
