Description

  • Lead FAA certification and regulatory approval processes and ensure compliance with federal aviation standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders, and government agencies.
  • Establish safety, compliance, and operational frameworks that support launch readiness and ongoing operations.
  • Define the organizational structure, roles, accountabilities, reporting lines, and performance cadence for the new business.
  • Recruit, hire, and lead the foundational executive team across operations, safety, compliance, maintenance, and finance.
  • Develop scalable SOPs, governance structures, systems, and operational processes to support launch and future growth.
  • Oversee strategy, operational partnerships, vendor relationships, and launch readiness milestones.
  • Define and execute the operational roadmap from planning through launch and early-stage growth.
  • Balance service delivery, cost management, and uncompromising safety standards.
  • Represent the company to investors and the Board, including progress updates, financial performance, fundraising support, and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading organizational development and launch activities, including team formation, systems development, and regulatory processes.
  • Deep commercial aviation regulatory experience, including significant involvement in FAA certification processes.
  • Strong command of FAA regulations, safety management systems (SMS), and compliance frameworks for commercial aviation operations.
  • Exceptional judgment and credibility in complex regulatory environments and in building trust with government agencies.
  • Strategic and operational versatility with the ability to drive both big-picture planning and detailed execution.
  • High credibility with technical teams, operational staff, board members, and investors.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-ambiguity environments with changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and relocate as operational needs require.
  • Executive leadership experience as CEO, President, COO, VP Operations, or General Manager in aviation or similarly regulated, safety-critical industries.
  • Preferred: Experience integrating brand vision with operational execution and customer experience standards.
  • Preferred: Background in aviation or service industries with a focus on customer experience and brand differentiation.
  • Preferred: Prior CEO, President, or COO experience with full P&L and operational accountability.
  • Preferred: Direct leadership experience in FAA certification processes for aviation operations.
  • Preferred: Experience in private aviation, charter operations, or emerging aviation business models.
  • Preferred: Investor-facing leadership experience, including fundraising and stakeholder management.
  • Preferred: Experience across multi-site or multi-certificate operating environments.
  • Preferred: Track record of scaling organizations from startup to mature operational phases.
