Description

  • Own the design process from early research through shipped UI and final pixel delivery.
  • Work across multiple products while maintaining coherence across the .NET ecosystem and broader IntelliJ Platform.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and researchers to shape product direction and design decisions.
  • Conduct and participate in user interviews, usability testing, and design validation.
  • Build organized Figma prototypes that clearly communicate intended interactions.
  • Translate complex technical domains into clear, usable product experiences.
  • Contribute to the design system and pattern documentation.
  • Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Help define and improve design practices, including prioritization frameworks, intake systems, and research processes.

Requirements

  • Strong product design craft with experience taking a problem from research through polished UX delivery.
  • High fluency in Figma, including the ability to create organized files and interactive prototypes.
  • Comfort designing for technically complex domains and learning quickly in unfamiliar spaces.
  • Systems thinking with the ability to design across multiple products and ecosystem contexts.
  • Independence and the ability to drive projects forward without constant direction.
  • Experience with user research methods such as interviews and synthesis of findings.
  • Basic coding literacy and familiarity with software development concepts.
  • Clear communication skills for explaining decisions and pushing back when needed.
  • A developer background or engineering mindset is preferred.
  • Experience designing developer tools, technical products, or complex professional software is especially valued.
