Description

  • Design agentic and LLM-based systems combining extraction, retrieval, reasoning, and tool use with human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Own AI workflows end to end, including design documentation, build-versus-buy decisions, model selection, launches, and success metrics.
  • Build reliable LLM pipelines with prompt and context design, structured outputs, validation, fallbacks, and confidence scoring.
  • Integrate AI services with backend systems using clear API contracts, retries, graceful degradation, and customer data isolation.
  • Optimize model selection, cost, and latency across workflow steps.
  • Create evaluation datasets and automated tests to detect regressions as prompts, models, and data change.
  • Implement logging, tracing, dashboards, alerts, and AI quality monitoring.
  • Maintain auditable records of AI decisions appropriate for regulated financial products.
  • Establish shared AI engineering patterns and tooling, mentor teams on coding agents, and review AI system designs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years building and operating production LLM or AI systems.
  • Experience owning large systems or workflows end to end with limited direction.
  • Hands-on experience shipping LLM applications using Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar APIs, including structured outputs, error handling, and evaluation.
  • Experience designing agentic or multi-step AI workflows involving tool use, orchestration, and human review.
  • Strong Python proficiency and backend fundamentals, including REST APIs, PostgreSQL or similar databases, asynchronous programming, and a major cloud provider.
  • Experience with AI observability, including logging, tracing, dashboards, and quality monitoring.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience using coding agents and AI tools in daily engineering work.
  • Remote work eligibility based in the United States.
