Description

  • Lead a team of 3–4 engineers building scalable services, APIs, and SDKs for the digital merchandising platform.
  • Set architecture and technical direction for the ads platform in partnership with staff engineers.
  • Align delivery with product roadmap goals through shared prioritization with technical leads.
  • Partner with Product Managers to develop robust, easy-to-use advertising products.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to use data to improve advertising performance.
  • Own engineering standards, including code quality, review culture, and technical processes.
  • Conduct design and code reviews.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through effective delegation.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop engineers through 1:1s, goal-setting, and performance feedback.
  • Support hiring by defining roles, evaluating candidates, and assessing technical leveling.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience on a product-focused team.
  • 2+ years of engineering leadership or people-management experience, with a record of delivering work through a team.
  • Experience with AdTech systems, ideally retail media, sponsored listings, or marketplace advertising.
  • Hands-on experience with ad serving and real-time decisioning, campaign pacing and budgeting, or attribution and measurement.
  • Ability to solve ambiguous, high-complexity systems and infrastructure challenges.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and code design.
  • Proficiency in a systems language such as Go (preferred) or Java.
  • Experience with relational, columnar, and document-based databases.
  • Clear technical communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience proposing, provisioning, and testing cloud infrastructure using Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, or similar tools.
