Description

  • Partner with the Director of Engineering and Staff Engineer to shape technical direction.
  • Lead the evolution of frontend architecture, including components and rendering strategies.
  • Translate product and design intent into elegant, maintainable user interfaces.
  • Simplify complex workflows to improve usability, responsiveness, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Design on solution development.
  • Mentor engineers and raise the bar for frontend and UX craftsmanship.
  • Help define frontend patterns and conventions across the product.
  • Contribute thoughtfully to process discussions and experimentation as a senior team member.
  • Work directly in Rails views using Hotwire, Turbo, Stimulus, and Tailwind.
  • Engage with creators and backers as a customer-facing member of the team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development experience is typical for successful candidates, though there is no strict years-of-experience requirement.
  • Deep experience building high-quality user interfaces with recent hands-on coding.
  • Strong fundamentals in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser behavior.
  • Comfort working directly in Rails views, helpers, and partials.
  • Experience with or strong interest in Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus.
  • Strong product and interaction design instincts.
  • Experience simplifying complex workflows and working effectively with ambiguity.
  • Experience shaping engineering patterns and conventions at the staff level.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Deep knowledge of Ruby, Rails, and JavaScript is a strong fit; preference for simple, maintainable systems over unnecessary abstraction.
