Description

  • Manage and develop a growing engineering team through goal setting, performance reviews, mentorship, recruiting, and staff development.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Transfer Explorer’s core platform and related research and discovery efforts.
  • Guide development of scalable, sustainable data-processing pipelines and secure, observable user experiences.
  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, and project managers to support effective delivery.
  • Manage technical vendors and data integration partners, including contracts, deliverables, and integrations.
  • Participate in business and contingency planning, roadmapping, grant management, and partnership development.
  • Contribute to leadership activities that scale Transfer Explorer toward greater impact and sustainability.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing and managing web-based software applications, including cloud environments such as AWS.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing software engineers.
  • Ability to create innovative but feasible technology-driven solutions.
  • Experience scaling prototypes into sustainable, scalable infrastructure and determining appropriate levels of resilience and structure.
  • Experience with agile development approaches, including lean startup, design thinking, experimentation, iterative releases, and validated learning.
  • Experience architecting software spanning multiple components, including data pipelines.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience with higher-education data, such as student information systems, degree audit systems, transfer articulation, or student records operations (preferred).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship.
  • Must work and reside in the continental United States.

  • Annual salary range of $138,000–$173,000.
