Description

  • Oversee day-to-day dispatch operations and ensure runs are accurately loaded and managed.
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching and support as needed.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for operational issues within the team.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy standards are consistently met across the team.
  • Communicate with transport teams and client management to support smooth coordination.
  • Identify and flag capacity or process issues before they escalate.
  • Support the onboarding, training, and development of new team members.
  • Review shift handovers and ensure accurate notes are passed between dispatchers.
  • Manage shift schedules and coordinate coverage across the team.
  • Handle escalated or high-risk situations requiring additional judgement or experience.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with team members to address performance or workload concerns.
  • Compile and submit team performance reports as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team in dispatch, medical transport, emergency services, or a similar high-volume coordination environment.
  • Confidence in making decisions and taking ownership of outcomes without close supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple digital channels simultaneously, including portals, email, messaging platforms, and phone.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems and platforms quickly and support others in doing the same.
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing team output or resolving discrepancies.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure during high-volume periods.
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
  • Resilience and emotional steadiness in a medical transport environment.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare or medical transport industry is an advantage.
  • Experience working with a CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system is an advantage.
  • Ability to work rotational shifts Monday to Saturday, including three 12-hour shifts plus one additional 4-hour shift to complete 40 hours per week.
  • Availability to work U.S. EST hours and South African public holidays.
  • Fixed fibre internet with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps upload and download, plus wired Ethernet capability.
  • Reliable backup power solution for load shedding and outages (UPS, inverter, solar, etc.).
