Description

  • Turn business problems and ideas into working AI-powered solutions.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, monitor, and improve AI applications, internal tools, agents, and intelligent business systems.
  • Build agentic systems that reason, use tools, access business data, and complete multi-step tasks.
  • Use AI coding tools, LLMs, APIs, agentic frameworks, and traditional software development to create solutions.
  • Evaluate models, tools, frameworks, and platforms and select appropriate technologies for each use case.
  • Integrate AI systems with CRMs, databases, messaging platforms, document-generation tools, and other business systems.
  • Develop workflow automations with tools such as n8n when appropriate.
  • Consider security, reliability, scalability, usage costs, and ROI when designing solutions.
  • Collaborate with leadership and business stakeholders to understand needs, recommend solutions, and independently deliver builds.
  • Research emerging AI technologies and assess their practical business value.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of professional software engineering, application development, or related technical experience.
  • Hands-on experience independently building and deploying AI-powered applications or systems beyond traditional workflow automation.
  • Experience building AI agents or agentic systems that use tools, APIs, business data, or external systems for multi-step tasks.
  • Experience with AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
  • Experience with LLMs such as Claude, OpenAI/GPT, Gemini, or similar.
  • Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, MCP, or comparable agentic technologies.
  • Strong Python and/or JavaScript, TypeScript, or Node.js development skills.
  • Experience building REST APIs and integrating third-party systems.
  • Experience with Docker, Git/GitHub, and modern deployment practices.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, communication, and independent problem-solving abilities; RAG, cloud, full-stack AI, human-in-the-loop, and LLM evaluation experience are advantageous.
  • Must reside in South Africa and work fully remotely Monday–Friday, 14:30–23:00 South African time, including South African public holidays.
  • Must have fixed fibre internet with at least 25 Mbps upload and download, wired Ethernet capability, and reliable backup power.
