Description

  • Provision and manage AWS and Azure infrastructure, including networks, storage, compute, private endpoints, and DEV, QA, and PROD environments.
  • Administer IAM roles, service principals, managed identities, groups, federation, and least-privilege access across cloud platforms and Databricks.
  • Create and configure Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog resources, cluster policies, storage credentials, and access controls.
  • Onboard Data Engineering, Data Science, and MLOps projects and resolve platform, access, networking, and configuration blockers.
  • Implement secure networking, encryption, secrets management, environment segmentation, audit logging, and compliance controls.
  • Automate provisioning, access management, catalog setup, environment configuration, and standard platform onboarding.
  • Monitor platform health, troubleshoot production infrastructure issues, and serve as the primary escalation point for Databricks platform problems.
  • Manage cloud and Databricks costs through tagging, policy enforcement, monitoring, showback/chargeback, and optimization.
  • Maintain runbooks, architecture documentation, access procedures, troubleshooting guides, and onboarding documentation.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud administration, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with both AWS and Microsoft Azure, including IAM, networking, storage, compute, and platform resources.
  • Hands-on Databricks administration experience with workspaces, Unity Catalog, catalogs, schemas, metastores, cluster policies, and access controls.
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools; Terraform is preferred, with Azure ARM/Bicep or AWS CloudFormation also valuable.
  • Strong understanding of IAM, RBAC, least privilege, service principals, managed identities, SSO, SCIM, and SAML.
  • Knowledge of VPC/VNet architecture, routing, private connectivity, network segmentation, secrets management, encryption, and key management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, identity, permissions, and platform-access issues quickly.
  • Strong communication skills when working with Data Engineering, Data Science, MLOps, and other technical teams.
  • Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, audit logging, access reviews, and evidence collection.
  • Preferred experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Databricks Asset Bundles, FinOps, cloud certifications, geospatial data, or regulated infrastructure and energy-sector datasets.
