Description

  • Monitor, identify, and analyze events from multiple sources to detect threats and respond to incidents quickly.
  • Conduct advanced investigations into potential automated and human threats within the hCaptcha platform.
  • Analyze complex patterns and behavioral data to generate actionable security insights.
  • Support ongoing improvements to AI/ML detection and response capabilities.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed teams to complete security operations and investigation tasks.
  • Assist in collecting metrics to measure the efficiency of Security Operations functions.
  • Audit the effectiveness of security controls and assess alignment with security compliance requirements.
  • Assist in implementing security policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations and threat hunting engagements.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Product and Customer Success.

Requirements

  • Exposure to web and API security, coding standards, WAFs, advanced persistent threat actors, botnets, and attack mitigation.
  • Hands-on SQL proficiency is required.
  • Knowledge of securing, managing, and preparing production web environments, including tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with threat hunting for web/API activity, web hacking, web data analysis, or WAF operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of web technology and web application security.
  • Strong understanding of the cybersecurity threat landscape and attacker mindset.
  • Experience scripting or programming with languages such as JavaScript or Python.
  • Interest in tracking industry trends and recommending product enhancements and new intelligence sources.
  • Demonstrated interest in working with data and metrics in a security context.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with curiosity and a mindset for innovation.
  • Familiarity with open source analytics and visualization tools such as Grafana or Redash (preferred).
  • Experience in red-teaming, especially developing bot-nets and whitehat hacking (preferred).
  • Hands-on knowledge of web security modules and secure configuration (preferred).
  • Experience with API test automation and standardization (preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of computer and network security (preferred).
  • Experience integrating security into build automation, deployment automation, test automation, SDLC orchestration, environment management, monitoring, and production (preferred).
  • Experience mentoring development teams, reviewing pull requests, and guiding development pipeline evolution (preferred).
  • Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes, including application packaging, deployment, containerization, and bug tracking (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ISMS/ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, and OWASP (preferred).
