Description

  • Plan and execute PV capacity testing in accordance with ASTM E2848.
  • Develop testing protocols, coordinate field execution, and produce technical reports.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to validate performance guarantees and resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyze plant data and testing results to support operational improvements and asset performance.
  • Investigate underperformance in DC collection systems and large-scale plant data.
  • Lead technical root-cause analyses and recommend corrective actions for performance issues.
  • Support Operations teams with troubleshooting after commercial operation.
  • Develop and refine PV energy models to improve forecasting and operational strategy.
  • Evaluate degradation trends, loss factors, and system behavior to maximize long-term production.
  • Support commissioning, performance testing, reliability assessments, and post-commercial operations across the asset lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in PV energy modeling, utility-scale solar engineering, or with an independent power producer.
  • Direct experience supporting utility-scale solar projects through commissioning, capacity testing, or operational performance engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise conducting ASTM E2848 PV capacity and performance testing.
  • Advanced proficiency in PV energy modeling and large-scale plant performance analytics.
  • Strong understanding of DC collection systems, plant design, and solar asset performance drivers.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety codes, grid integration requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Ability to translate complex technical analysis into clear, actionable business recommendations.
  • Experience collaborating across Engineering, Asset Management, Operations, EPC contractors, OEMs, and external engineering partners.

  • Total compensation of USD $188,500 - $205,400 or CAD $270,893 - $295,180, including base salary and bonus.
