Description

  • Design and maintain scalable KYC onboarding workflows integrated with identity verification providers.
  • Build high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.
  • Implement GDPR-compliant data privacy and security controls for sensitive financial data and PII.
  • Manage complex user verification state lifecycles and maintain accurate audit trails.
  • Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to translate regulatory needs into technical specifications.
  • Lead code reviews and mentor mid-level engineers.
  • Drive testing best practices and CI/CD automation.
  • Deploy and monitor microservices in a cloud-native environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and asynchronous task queues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Python experience, with strong proficiency in Python 3.x.
  • Experience with high-performance frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.
  • Proven experience integrating KYC/identity verification providers such as IDnow, Onfido, or Sumsub.
  • Ability to design robust state machines for user verification statuses and scalable microservices.
  • Deep understanding of PII handling, encryption, and secure API design in regulated environments.
  • Experience with asynchronous processing tools such as Celery and RabbitMQ.
  • Strong PostgreSQL/database management experience for audit-ready financial systems.
  • Background in a regulated fintech environment such as BaFin or FCA is highly preferred.
  • FinTech experience is preferable.
