Description

  • Field time-sensitive inquiries from law enforcement about Instacart’s policies for disclosing user data.
  • Conduct investigations to identify users and retrieve relevant records.
  • Draft accurate responses to valid subpoenas, warrants, and court orders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal and other stakeholders.
  • Handle emergency response, evidence gathering, and misconduct or compliance investigations.
  • Operate with a high degree of confidentiality while managing sensitive cases.
  • Communicate complex policy and legal issues to internal and external stakeholders in high-visibility situations.

Requirements

  • Interest in law, policy, and privacy issues.
  • Familiarity with legal language and the US/CAN criminal justice system.
  • Ability to communicate complex, nuanced policy and legal issues to stakeholders in sensitive situations.
  • Ability to navigate emergency situations in a calm, meticulous, detail-oriented manner.
  • Comfort using Google Drive to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Comfort using Excel or Google Sheets for basic data analysis.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Familiarity with applicable privacy laws and regulations is preferred.
  • Experience using investigative tools to conduct searches and identify records from minimal information is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of SQL is preferred.
  • Professional experience related to legal and privacy operations is preferred.
  • Comfort using Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF editing software is preferred.
  • Full-time availability for a 40-hour workweek, with potential off-hours coverage.

  • Base pay range of $27.88–$29.33 USD in CA, NY, CT, and NJ.
  • Base pay range of $26.44–$27.89 USD in WA.
  • Base pay range of $25.48–$26.93 USD in OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, and HI.
  • Base pay range of $23.08–$24.28 USD in all other states.
  • Eligibility for a new hire equity grant.
  • Eligibility for annual refresh equity grants.
